Aims

Changing Attitude Scotland has the following aims:

  • To enable gay and lesbian couples to get married in Scottish Episcopal Churches. ACHIEVED 8 JUNE 2017
  • To confirm the ending of the “Scottish Moratorium” by which Bishops never attend same-sex ceremonies, including Civil Partnerships and services of blessing. ACHIEVED 29 NOVEMBER 2013
  • To ensure in Scotland the ending of the first of the Anglican moratoria which seeks to exclude gay and lesbian clergy in long-term partnerships from consideration for the episcopate. ACHIEVED IN SCOTLAND 8 JUNE 2017
  • To establish climate of equal opportunities for all offices within the Scottish Episcopal Church.  – BEING MONITORED
  • To work for a world in which prejudice against LGBT people is unacceptable in the church and wider society.
